Mosquito & Tick Control for Carlisle Homeowners
You shouldn't have to choose between a yard free of biting pests and a yard that’s safe for pollinators. Here’s how Carlisle gets both.
If you're in Carlisle, you know our mature tree canopy and lush landscaping are what make this neighborhood so special. They’re also what make it a perfect home for mosquitoes and ticks. Mosquitoes spend their days resting on the underside of leaves in your shaded beds and shrubs, and ticks get dropped off by deer that come to snack on those same ornamental plants. That means your frequently-mowed lawn isn’t the problem; your beautiful landscaped areas are. Most treatments use harsh chemicals that can’t legally be sprayed on flowering plants, so they either skip those areas or break the law, leaving gaps in coverage and risking pollinators. I refused to offer this service until I found a way to do it right.
I spent a lot of time testing to find a mix that actually works but is also bee-safe and safe for me to apply without a respirator. The result is my own custom blend of cedar oil, garlic oil, peppermint oil, and a specific soap. Because it’s bee-safe, I can legally and ethically treat your entire landscaped area, including flowers, which is exactly where the pests are. I apply it with a backpack mist blower, aiming the outlet upward to coat the undersides of leaves where mosquitoes hide. Treating for mosquitoes in their true habitat simultaneously treats for ticks, since deer bring them to the same plants. It’s one efficient application for both problems. For any standing water we find during your initial property walk-through, like in clogged gutters or birdbaths, I use bacterial mosquito dunks that are harmless to everything except larvae.
This approach is especially effective in a neighborhood like Carlisle, with its older, established landscapes. It’s about real control you can enjoy all season, not just a quick spray that washes away or harms the environment. If you have a dedicated pollinator garden, just point it out and I’ll adjust the formula around it with an extra-cautious mix. You get a yard where you can actually relax, and the bees can safely work. Let’s make your outdoor space in Franklin usable again.
