Mosquito, Flea & Tick Yard Treatment

Reclaim your yard from mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks with professional barrier treatments designed for Middle Tennessee's pest season. Enjoy your outdoor living space without the bite.

Mosquito, Flea & Tick Yard Treatment - Mr. Lawn Care

Middle Tennessee's warm, humid climate creates ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks from April through October. These biting pests are more than just a nuisance — they carry diseases including West Nile virus, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and ehrlichiosis. Mr. Lawn Care's yard treatment service creates a protective barrier around your property that dramatically reduces pest populations, allowing you to enjoy your outdoor living space safely.

Our mosquito and tick treatment program uses a professional barrier spray applied to the areas where pests rest and breed: the undersides of leaves, shrub beds, fence lines, tree canopies, and shaded areas around your property perimeter. The treatment creates a residual barrier that continues killing pests for 21 to 30 days after application. We recommend treatments every 3 to 4 weeks during peak season for maximum protection.

Unlike DIY sprays and citronella candles that provide minimal, temporary relief, professional barrier treatments address the source of the problem. By targeting the resting and breeding areas where mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks spend most of their time, we reduce populations across your entire property rather than just repelling them from a small area.

Why This Matters in Middle Tennessee

The I-65 corridor's abundant rainfall, warm temperatures, and lush vegetation create perfect habitat for mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks. Standing water in Middle Tennessee's clay soils provides breeding sites for mosquitoes, while the region's deer population supports high tick numbers. Properties near creeks, wooded areas, or with dense landscaping are particularly vulnerable.

Mosquito & Tick Control FAQ

How does a barrier treatment work against flying mosquitoes?

Mosquitoes do not fly constantly; they spend the heat of the day resting on the undersides of leaves in shaded, humid areas. Our barrier treatment targets these specific resting sites—shrub beds, low tree canopies, and perimeter foliage. The specialized polymer formulation adheres to the leaves, killing mosquitoes on contact and providing residual control for weeks.

Why do treatments need to be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks?

The micro-encapsulated products we use are designed to slowly release the active ingredient over time, but they naturally degrade due to UV exposure, rainfall, and plant growth. In the humid environment of Middle Tennessee, a 21- to 28-day cycle ensures the protective barrier remains unbroken throughout the peak breeding season from April to October.

Will this treatment completely eliminate mosquitoes from my property?

While no outdoor treatment can guarantee 100% elimination, a properly applied barrier spray typically reduces the mosquito population by 85% to 90%. You may still see occasional 'blow-ins' from neighboring untreated properties, but they will be eliminated once they land on the treated foliage in your yard.

How does the treatment address ticks and fleas?

The same active ingredients that control mosquitoes are highly effective against ticks and fleas. We focus our application on the 'ecotones'—the transitional areas where manicured lawn meets woods, tall grass, or brush. These are the primary habitats where ticks wait to attach to passing hosts (questing), ensuring comprehensive protection for your family and pets.

What can I do as a homeowner to improve the treatment's effectiveness?

Source reduction is critical. The Asian Tiger Mosquito, common in Middle Tennessee, can breed in a bottle cap of water. Eliminating standing water in clogged gutters, corrugated drain pipes, children's toys, and birdbaths removes their breeding habitat. Combining our adulticide barrier treatment with your diligent source reduction yields the best results.
